How to Get Approved by AdSense in 3 Easy Steps
Google AdSense is the most popular, actually most desired ad network. But get approved by AdSense is a challenging task. Publishers try many times until they get AdSense approval. Applying again and again without completing the requirements leads to a permanent ban so, make sure your site is ready for AdSense approval.
Several publishers did not get approved by AdSense as they do not create sites according to Google AdSense requirements. If you are one of those then this post is for you. I have broken down the whole process into 3 parts. Let’s start them.
1- Fulfill AdSense Policies
The very first thing is to make sure that your site is according to AdSense policies otherwise you will not get AdSense approval. Below is the list of policies:
- Must have at least 400 daily page views
- You must have text content on your site (at least 200 words)
- The site must be easy to navigate
- Faster loading site and hence less bounce rate also matters
- You must be 18+
- The site should not contain pop-up or on-click ads
- No adult content

2- Apply for AdSense
You can apply if your site is ready according to the above AdSense policies. This step can be classified into two further parts.
Simply go to the AdSense homepage and click “Get Started”. The sign-up page will appear where you have to provide the following information:
- Website URL
- Your email address
- Choose either you want to receive updates or not
Finally, click the “Save and Continue” button.
After that, you will see a login window where you have to use your Gmail account login cardinals. Finally, the AdSense interface will appear where you have to choose your country and agree with the terms of services. See a below screenshot for clarity.
Now a new window will appear where you have to provide the following information:
- Real Name
- City & State
- Phone Number (optional)
Finally, you will be asked to verify your contact number.
Insert the Code for AdSense Approval
After providing the required information, now you have to verify your website. AdSense will give you an ad code that you have to paste in the “head section” of your website. After pasting the code, click “verify”. Now your application will go under process which will take up to 2 weeks.
3- Setting up AdSense
After approval, ads will start serving automatically. You can also create ads of different sizes and paste the code where you want to show them.
You can create an ad of any size and format put 300×250, 720×90, 336×280, and 300×600 are the most popular sizes. Additionally, using responsive ad sizes is also a good idea.
Let’s create an ad unit and put it into the WordPress website.
How to Create an Ad
Once you get approved by AdSense, you are allowed to create an ad unit of available sizes. To create your first ad code, login into the AdSense account, and click the “Ads” option on the left menu.
A new window will appear where you will see the option “New Ad Unit”.
After clicking, you have to give a name to the ad unit, desired ad size, and ad type (image, text, or both).
Finally, choose a color scheme that matches your website’s color scheme. Having the same color schemes will increase the CTR (Click Through Rate).
Bonus Points for Beginners
Below are some very important points that will keep you safer from AdSense account termination.
- Provide a real name and address.
- A pin will be sent on your address that is required to withdraw payment.
- Your account will be disabled if you will click or ask someone to click on ads.
- Turning off low category ads is a common method to try to get high paying ads but it can even lower your income. I would suggest getting training in increasing AdSense income.
